I hate Daylight Savings Time

I hate early morning meetings with a passion. And I hate them even more after daylight savings time in the spring. BOOOO. I definitely woke up and 6:55 and had to be in a meeting at 7:15. Considering my school is only 6-7 minutes away (thank goodness)  I deserve an award for getting ready so fast. Don't you think? (The secret is, brush your teeth and put on your pants at the same time- one hand for each!) HAH!

Monday Shopping

Oops, I went shopping again. Doooot de doooo. I'll get to that in a minute. Here's today's outfit

 Pants: SO via Kohls
Navy super soft "dressy" tee: Target
Cardi: Old Navy
Scarf: Thrifted via Platos Closet

I actually wore this outfit most of the day without the sweater. It was a little toasty in my classroom today. I'm kind of excited, because now it means I can wear some of my short sleeve items that don't really always look the best with a cardigan. Also, black shoes and khaki fail. But it was still really wet out and I didn't want to wear flats and have them get all wet. (You know what I'm talking about, how part of the shoe on flats sometimes touches the ground, because the sole is not always big enough?)

I returned the second pair of dress pants I had sitting in my closet with the tags still on after work today. (different color, same style as the black ones that are too big after wearing.) What I realized was, they fit awesome for the first few hours out of the dryer. Then they stretch out for some reason like nobodys business. I didn't think the material of dress pants would do this, but it does. Sad.

Then I swung by Old Navy because I kept thinking about those shorts that seemed to not quite fit right and the dress I previously posted a pic of on here (the black and white stripes) and I got an email saying you get 10 off coupon for your next purchase of 25, when you spend 25.

I decided to try on the shorts again just because, and I bought black shorts and a pair of blue/green/lime plaid shorts, but it was a nightmare finding one that fit. Here's why:

Those are the SAME SIZE shorts. Can I get a WTF? So, I am REALLY hoping that their crappy sizing control isnt reflected in when I wash/wear them, like what happened with my dress pants. No shrinking or stretching like crazy please... I really want these to work because they are one of few (the only??) plain, basic looking, non booty shorts around. And by that I mean, most places are either board shorts, or so little fabric you aren't quite sure it would even cover your whole butt. What is up with that? Where have all the normal shorts gone?

TGIF

Yesterday I left my phone at home. I got too busy to take photos of my outfit while at work, and once I got home I realized I left the camera on my desk from taking photos of my students art projects. I'd forget my head if it wasn't attached. Sheesh. Long story short, no outfit pics from yesterday. Here's a chameleon painting instead, compliments of one of my first graders.

Here's today:

Boots: Old Navy
Jeans: SO via Kohls
Tank: A'Gaci?
Flannel: Target
Earrings: LaLa via etsy

If you are interested in the earrings, the seller uses a gauge of wire that is larger than regular earring posts, and it actually hurt my ears. She's the bomb and was able to use a thinner gauge to remake them for me. Just FYI.

Anywho, I swung by Kohls after work (there goes not shopping this month and spending money wisely? oops) , just planning to scope out some shorts and all the clearance stuff they've been advertising. I have to say, I was REALLY impressed with the Jr department this time. Sometimes I feel like their stuff is too young and the trend is not me, but everything seemed a bit more like alot of things I've been seeing on everyones blogs lately. Lots of lace, florals, and pastels, and flowy sheer tops. Worth checking out if you shop target, you might score some good finds at Kohls right around now.

I did buy a pair of shorts, reluctantly ( I think I just hate my legs, and feel like shorts are just sooo short, sigh) a navy floral lace shirt, and the best dress of all time. I have been wanting a heart cutout back dress for AGES. Online they are always super pricey, sold out, or a dumb color like green. I saw it on the rack and I snatched it up faster than you can say SOLD. And it was half price. Now I need it to warm up so I can wear it without a sweater. Haha! Sadly, twisting to try to take a photo of it in the mirror kinda stretches out and deforms the heart, but here you go. The navy shirt I bought is hanging in the background, not that you can make out the details of the flower lace much.

I tried on a peplum shirt just for kicks. I've kind of always been anti-peplum. I just don't get it,as a trend. But now that I tried it on, I....I kinda... like it. thereisaidit. Can't decide if I like this print or if plain black would be better with jeans. ( I always feel weird about blue and blue, and I have no colored pants to speak of right now. I got a 10 coupon to spend starting Monday, and I'm considering getting this shirt with it. The print, plain black? With dark skinny jeans? A skirt?

What do we think? Help!

Wednesday

Pants: bergners
Top: NY&Co
Cardi: Old Navy
Necklac: NY & Co
Earrings: Charming Charlie
Ring: Georgetown Jewelers

Today was the, I thought I had my outfit planned, but then tried on five different things before deciding on this, day. UGH. I had a short sleeve black top to go under a sweater, but the sleeves puffed out and looked weird. So I tried this other cardi over this shirt (which is a tank) but that particular one had those hanger loops...and they were scratching my shoulders. Then I tried on my grey  argyle sweater, but it was cropped much shorter than this top and just looked funny. And here we are.

Reeeeeediculous. Ever have one of those mornings? I really have a craving to go shopping, but I really can't afford it. Well, can't afford it, and spending my money more wisely are really two different things, but I'm telling myself the former to help me resist the urge. I just aid my tax bill (hundreds! eek!) and still haven't ordered my new glasses I want to get. Since I got a couple new items last weekend, maybe I can be strong and make it the rest of March with no purchases...

Snowy Tuesday

Pants: ? Kohls or JCP
Top:Italy
Cardi: Old Navy
Earrings: Claires?
Necklace that never stays sideways: Etsy

Trying to add a little pattern to my lots of black outfit. I've been trying to shop for button down shirts to wear under sweaters, but can't really find the types of shirts I've been looking for.

I got an email from Kohls about their clearance items, and also want to try to find some shorts for this summer. But alas, its quite snowy out, and I'm expecting a UPS package anyways that I have to sign for. Oh well.

Last Friday

Winter Boots: Old Navy
Jeans: SO via Kohls
Tank: Old Navy clearance
Cardi & Earrings: Charlotte Russe

Polish: Revlon Fearless

Got a chance to go shopping at my favorite mall this weekend in my hometown. In fact, I went right at 10am when they opened this morning. I was planning to shop after having lunch with a friend, then making the 3 hr drive back to where I currently live, but there was a dicey forecast for snow and I did NOT want to get stuck in a blizzard on the highway. (Been there, done that, one of the worst life decisions I ever made to drive through that) So I shopped in the morning and headed home right after lunch instead.

So, I wanted to go to Forever 21, and the one I went to is epicly HUGE. Needless to say the music is always blasting, clothes are flung everywhere, its full of people, and I generally do not have the patience to shop there. But at 10am, all is calm, the store is super perfectly neat and organized, and there is like, one other person in the whole place. AWESOME. I tried on many things but only ended up with one shirt, a scarf, and a camisole tank. I LOVED this one dress, particularly the cut of it really, but it was still a tad too big on the top half, and rather unfitted and floppy in the back where the zipper was. But, now at least I know what style dress I like, right? I'm sad it didn't fit quite right. The shirt I did buy is the one hanging up in the back there.

My socks really make the outfit, no?
