Dress: H&M, handed down from sister Earrings: NY & Co
I got a crazy amount of compliments on this dress today. I think it's because it's so...different. My coworker said it was very 70's. Totally true. Kinda love it. Kinda hate these crazy sleeves though. They drag all through everything. I'm thinking about cutting/hemming them into short sleeves. Thoughts?
I caved. I bought a bubble necklace. I still kind of hate the HUGE ones (totally not me) but thought I could pull off the smaller version. I had it on my amazon list for ages. I wish it was silver and not gold, but oh well. It's definitely cheap (the "gold is not even shiny, its pretty matte, which only makes it look more cheap), and they have nicer ones at Charming Charlie now that I've gotten the one from amazon, but what are ya gonna do? When the trend dies, at least I didn't pay too much. And it doesn't look terrible, just not as nice as some other knockoffs I've seen.

I'm sorry, my hair is HOW long now? Dang. I guess I really need that haircut!
No more Mondays at work! Only 5 1/2 days left of school! Woo! I don't know who looks forward to summer more, teachers, or students.
Here is an outfit from the weekend, and today:
I keep forgetting to change my white balance for the conditions. Terrible. Ack.
Shorts: Old Navy Top: NY and Co
Skirt: ? Top: Banana Republic Outlet
Seriously, I am looking pale today. I blame the white balance. Doot de doo. Maybe I'm hyper critical since I also started using the Jergens gradual tan lotion? I've used it maybe 4 times on my legs and once on my arms. And I know I got some on the tops of my shoulders, so why are they so blindingly white? Yikes.
Also, I'm thinking about getting a haircut. It just kinda hangs there. Especially if I straighten it, it's pretty darn blah. I think I need layers like this:
I'm SO ready for my summer break. There are only 9 more school days until summer, yahoo!
Yesterday I went on a photoshoot for my friend Sally, who has the CUTEST style. For reals. I was shooting her, but she insisted on snapping a few of me in this pretty field too. Here is yesterdays outfit and today
Flats: Wet Seal Dress: Sienna, Italy
Skirt: Forever 21
Tee: Kohls Necklace: Gift (Forever 21 accessory store)
Yeah, I'm lookin a little like a zombie. I need a little blush and gloss, eh?
I think my excitement to use my wireless remote now will really help me get back into the swing of posting on the regular.
It's "spirit week" at school this week, which means we can all dress more casual, hence the jeans.
I got a few questions about my wireless remote. I bought the cheap version from amazon that is compatible with my Nikon. It ended up costing about 15 or 16 bucks including shipping. Here is a link. Seriously it's so awesome!
Jeans: Kohls Tee: H&M Cardigan type jacket: TJMaxx Necklace: Charming Charlie
So I bought a wireless shutter release remote a week or so ago, and it finally just showed up. Omg, I'm obsessed with how much easier it is to take pictures! Are all fellow fashion bloggers doing this? Was I the only one trying to use the stupid timer and failing? I'm telling you, it SO beats running to beat the timer, trying to pose cute, back and forth back and forth.
The only downside is I snapped 38 pics just now. I mean, I'm not photo whoring it up or anything....
Boots: Bergners Skinnies: Love Culture Button Up: Forever 21 Necklace: Body Central, under $5!
I know nobody asked, but yes, I painted that sunflower triptych myself.
Fun and bright, or distracting to the outfit? This is one of the only good sources of light I can stand near in my apt, so the background isn't that neutral but the lighting is good. Thoughts?
Between when the janitor cleaned my classroom at 6am, and when I got there at 8, some punk kid (i'm assuming...) crammed paper towels in sink and turned it on. And my room was a lake when I showed up. It was not a very good start to the day.
Here are some old outfits from a while ago, and one from today...
Flats: Target Jeans: Levis via TJMaxx Top: Gap
I wore the pink dress below for my art show I put on at the school I work at (I'm an art teacher) I got myself all fancied up for my "big night" just because I wanted an excuse to dress up. Haha!
Wedges: Payless Dress: Kohls Hair: youtube tutorial by lilith moon for "greek updo"
This hairstyle is the BOMB, especially for my curly hair. People asked if I got it done at a salon. Now THAT means it looks good! Here's the video:
When I fell out of the habit of posting a few weeks ago, I fell hard.
Sorry friends. I've been busy with lots of work things, fiddling with my camera, and lots of other excuses. I have a few more outfits I need to post.
I tried some outdoorsy shots, but I was having problems. The camera, other people going by (awkward much?) and feeling like an idiot. I gave up with no good pictures. NONE. Am I just stupid, or how can you get the camera to focus on the spot you will be standing with the timer?
The problem will be soon solved, I just got my wireless shutter release remote in the mail. I'll try again in a few weeks. When school is out.
Also, do my fellow bloggers just all live near really cool areas with trees? I feel like going out for shoots is more trouble than it's worth.
Travels, more portfolio building on my portrait shots (of other people, not myself) and wrapping up the school year in the next few weeks.
Ok, I definitely fail at updates lately. I really hope I can get back into the swing of things, but I've been swamped lately with work and had little motivation to take the time to make these posts.
Here's a bunch of outfits as of recently:
Pants: Kohls Sweater: Love Culture Necklace: etsy
The portrait is blurry, but it's ok, it softens how much of a hot mess I look like...
Khakis: Kohls Top: Bergners
I really love this shirt, and didn't realize HOW SHORT it was when I got dressed this morning. I think I accidentally tossed this in the dryer last wash when I shouldn't have. I might have to get rid of it. Sad. But it look ridiculous. Amiright?
Shoes and pants: Kohls Top: Banana Republic Outlet Red cardi: Old Navy
Skirt: custom made in Benin Shirt: Kohls Earrings: not sure
Lookin like a hot mess again. Blech.
Crop pants: Burlington Coat Factory Top: F21 Earrings: Charming Charlie
I swear, I looked alot better in person than in these photos. And I wore cute white strappy sandals too but didn't bother to put them on for the photo at home.
