Bullying Prevention

Today is supposed to be bullying awareness/prevention....by wearing blue. (It's a school thing?) So, here is my seriously over blue outfit with blue scarf, blue sweater, and blue jeans. And purple shoes just because.

Shoes: Old Navy (old)
Jeans: Denizen by Lee via Target
Sweater: Old Navy (last season)
Scarf: Thrifted

What I Wore: Wedding

My sister in law recently got married under this beautiful oak tree on the edge of where a forest meets a field. Such a beautiful day!

I told my husband to take a photo of me....so here you go.
The dress is from Old Navy.

Kept everything else fairly simple. It was out in a field, after all. =)

Pencil Skirts

Seriously love a good pencil skirts. I need one in like, every color. Especially yellow. Yasi over at Hello, Gorgeous has convinced me of this. Anywho, I feel like a skirt like this is particularly fancy for my job (art teacher to little kiddos) but you know, I feel good when I dress up, so IdowhatIwant. Haha.

Flats: Wet Seal
Skirt: H&M
Top: Old, no idea
Necklace: Kohls
Gold Hoops: Target

This is my hair after doing a couple of protein treatments. Definitely has it's spring back and I'm noticing tighter curl pattern. Hooray! P.S. Is my hair really this long? I felt like I cut a lot off after the wedding in June (it was above chest level) but now it is definitely just about my waist when all in the back...I guess my hair grows like weeds.

Heat Wave

I ended up taking off the grey cardigan I wore with this today about five minutes after I got to work. I meant to take a photo with the cardigan too, but then I was in a rush to change out of my work clothes and forgot, and I'm not changing again- too lazy! HAH! Keepin it real folks.

Shoes: Sketchers
Navy Pants: American Eagle Outlet
Tank: NY&Co Outlet
Necklace: Murano glass from Venice Italy

I can't decide if I'm loving my long hair, or hating my long hair....I secretly want to chop it off and get side bangs a la Reece Witherspoon.

Comfy shoes kind of a must. I love that flats come in cute colors but honestly, my feet hurt after a long day even in sneakers. Wish I could sit at a desk all day in an office and wear heels. Or just have any kind of stamina to wear heels for more than one hour. Oh well.

Pixie Pant Problems

Ok. I really feel like I needed to visually document this and get some more opinions. The dot pants are regular size, in the regular length. Since no other fun colors come in the normal length, I tried to cheat and order "tall" in the ankle pants, to see if it just might work ( see the red pants.)

Are these pants stupid on me or are they cute and I'm crazy? I seriously feel like I don't have the right shoes. These black ones are OK I think but then...in winter, when it's freezing, it would look super stupid to wear socks, right? Or am I wrong again? Does everybody else skip the socks and freeze? Or do you not wear skinnies in winter without boots?

Honestly, the "tall" ankle pixie pants came out to the right length, but one, these shoes look stupid (right?) and two, they are just a smidge too big from the knee down. Right?

PLEASE let me know if I'm crazy or not. I can't decide if it's the shoes, the whole look on me, or what...are skinny pants just not for me?

And....what kind of shoes do you wear with skinnies besides boots?    And are work appropriate but not heels? I'm literally chasing kiddos around all day on my feet, and most flats offer like, no support.  UGGGGGH

So many questions. I hope yall can help a sister out?

Cardigan Love

I'm trying to work on going outside of my comfort zone a little more with clothes that I purchase/will purchase...because I feel like alot of what I've been buying has been somewhat more of the staples or basics for my wardrobe since trying to restart in the area of my style a couple years ago. So, the other day I wore this cardigan, which I got as a gift. I like the color, but most likely would not have picked it out for myself due to the textures lace pattern on the pockets and on the back.

There are some style bloggers I follow that I just really emulate what I wish my style actually was, and I've realized I'm not quite getting there because 1. my job type does in fact limit what is practical (elementary art teacher) and 2. I'm just not taking risks with my style. Example one, I wear black slacks probably 90% of the time.

In an effort to kind of spice things up and open my eyes more to things I like but might not reach for myself, I signed up to do Stitch Fix. My first fix is coming at the end of October. I'm pretty excited, I'm just really hoping  they will take my request to heart and try to find me the most budget friendly items (on average I think items are around 60$?)

Anywho, stay tuned for that, and as I try to spice it up a little more and take more fashion risks.

Fall colors

I came to the realization I don't own any brown tank tops while trying to put this outfit together this morning....the neckline is a pretty deep V and a black tank with brown pants didn't quite look right...and  I didn't want to wear black pants (AGAIN) and look like Halloween. Solution: scarf! Looking at these pictures, my legs seem super short...not sure what's up with that?
