Rainy and blah

Pants: Kohls (Same old, same same old)
Yellow tee: Kohls
Cardigan: Old Navy
Necklace: ?
Earrings: Etsy

Today it has just raaaaained and rained. UGH. Definitely not helping a person feel cheerful. Even in these bright colors.  This feels like a very "safe" cardigan outfit. Hmm. I'm just not feeling the inspiration I guess.

I reaaaaally have an itch to go shopping. Like really really really. However, I just bought a laptop, and I thought my tax refund would cover it, but I did my taxes and I OWE money. Laaaaame sauce.  It's not like I can't afford the laptop, but with that bill, and the tax bill, I feel like maybe shopping is not the best idea. Not really in the best interest in my budget. Sigh. Maybe I'll still go to the thrift store. Can't do too much damage there, right?

Early Valentines Day

Flats: Target online
Khakis: Kohls
Pink tank: Platos Closet
Cardigan: Platos Closet
Headband/scarf: Gap outlet (waaaaaay old)

Well look at me in my pink and maroon, with matching headband. I looked at myself in the mirror at lunch and thought, this is a pretty good valentines day color scheme I've got going on here. Definitely more casual feeling. I doesn't make me feel great and stylish. Just comfy. Comfy isn't bad though, right? I do love a good crisp put together feeling outfit though. Hmm

I just really hate seeing myself in khakis. I'm not brave enough for colored pants. I'm stuck in black and grey trouser land. I love fun skirts, but it's too damn cold for that. Tights or not! SO WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO!?

New earrings

Flats:  Wet Seal
Pants: Bergners
Top: NY&Co via Platos Closet
Cardigan: Old Navy
Earrings: Etsy

Just got these earrings last week from etsy, they are made out of colored pencils. Since I'm an art teacher, totally perfect. Cute, yet subtle enough that they aren't obviously colored pencils and tacky. Woo! I wanted to wear my yellow flats with this outfit, but I feared outdoor recess duty with the kinders on this wet day wouldn't go over well with them. They tend to get dirty really easily. Oh well!

Not havin it.

Have you helped me pick what glasses to get yet? If not, click here to see them, and then vote on the sidebar! Thanks!

Ruffle Tank: NY and Co
Cardigan: Old Navy
Earrings: Ten Thousand Villages (a fair trade boutique)
Nails: Essies Fiji

Ooh, light colors. So much better than all that black black black. I'm a big fan of this ruffle top. Seriously love it. Goes great with grey. And the light pink nail polish is the perfect compliment. This outfit is very spring. Makes me feel not so depressed. (You know, all this grey dreary weather and freezing temps can really get a girl down)

And yeah, not a real big difference from the haircut with the curls, it would seem. I myself can tell it's at least maybe in inch shorter now that the curls have gone back to their springy ways, but it's not really much difference otherwise. Just feels nice knowing I got rid of those fried ends, I guess.

I'm definitely looking forward to this weekend already. I woke up in a mood today where I was just not having any of it. Tired, random sore neck, don't want to get out of bed, deal with people, go to work, kind of mood. Blech. Anyone else?

Now I'm torn

More photos, showing my old glasses, vs. the two favs in the poll, but with curly hair this time. Does it make a difference when my hair is curly? Or when you see how one is very similar to my old glasses? Do I go with a similar style that I'm used to, or switch it up?

I thought I knew, but now I'm not so sure! Argh!

Old frames

Warby Parker

So I was all like, OMG, the extra thin lenses because I'm blind as a bat cost HOW MUCH? (Price quotes varied between 140-180, just for lenses!) So I promptly ranted on facebook about how glasses are a rip off.

A friend of mine replied to my rant about glasses with a recommendation for  Warby Parker, so I checked out their site. The thing that separates this site from any other glasses site I've seen, is that they let you pick up to 5 pairs to try on at home. All for free, shipping to and from and everything! If you don't like them you can request others to try on, or just do nothing. No obligation to buy.

Their frames all cost 95$, and my lenses will cost me an extra 30. WAY better than the eyedoctor, that's for sure.  Plus, if you buy glasses from them, they donate a pair to someone in need, kind of like the whole TOMS shoes deal. So I promptly ordered my risk free 5 try on pairs and here is what they look like:

 1. The frontrunner

2. The kinda like em but they're kinda too big?

3. The cute but looks very similar to what I have now.

4.  The cute but looks very similar to what I have now  version 2

5.  The other big pair?

Fashionless Friday

Yeah, I'm in a lame sweater and jeans. Another blogger posted about feeling pressure as a fashion blogger to have perfect outfits all the time. Kinda true. But you know what, normal people wear jeans and sweaters. We can't all be swanky everyday, can we?

I'm sure it's so.obvious. that I got my hair cut right? And no, I didn't cut a layer that short, those are my bangs just growing out. I did get a little bit of face framing layers trimmed in, but they are hard to see from the way it was styled. Oh well. Soon you'll be able to see if it made much difference to my curls. Hmmm...
