Nail Stamping

Flats: Wet Seal
Pants: Kohls
Tank:NY&Co
Cardigan: Charlotte Russe

Dark Pink Base: MM Brand, no color name
Light pink: Jean-Michelle Pinkberry

Needless to say, I'm a little peeved at this nail polish, it's chipping already after one day! Argh! It lasted a long time on my toes, I dunno whats up.Also, I haven't done much stamping lately, so I did it last night. I think it's fun, I just am not patient enough anymore to take the time to do it. I always feel like my evenings after work are going by SO fast this school year. I just don't feel like I can get everything ready so I can sit there and do my nails and let them dry. But I'm trying. I want to use all the nail polish I own this year. (Maybe 60 bottles?)

P.S. Cheery yellow on a cold winter day is where it's at, dontcha think?

And, I can't figure out if all these bloggers I see wearing skirts and dresses live in really mild climates, or if they are all just crazy. I'm freezing over here!

It's OK Thursday

It's OK
to go to the store for one thing, but not buy it and get something else instead (specifically blue leather for my bookbinding business)
to not do the dishes just yet
to still have the Christmas tree up and have no plans to take it down any time soon
to eat breakfast at my desk at work because I'd rather sleep longer than eat leisurely at home

Color and Cardigans

 Flats: Target online
Khakis: Kohls
Tank: Old Navy via Platos Closet
Cardigan: Old Navy
Necklace: Etsy
Unruly curly hair: Thanks dad

I realized I've been wearing alot of black the past few days and I decided I needed some bright color in my life. I am just in love with this ruffled tank. I wish it wasn't racerback, then I could wear it on it's own in summer (I have no bras that work with racerback, boo) Is anyone else not a fan of the whole racerback tank trend?

I also still can't decide how I feel about Khaki pants. They always just seem...off to me. Black pants are fine, but I feel like I live in black pants in the winter. I did a lot better of a job last fall mixing up my bottoms and wearing skirts and dresses and I have some different color cropped pants, but I just feel stuck in winter. I also care more about being warm than looking cute in a skirt and leggings. Not gonna happen.  I want work appropriate bottoms, but can't get out of the land of black pants (or black with a pinstripe). They don't fit all that great either, but are ok. I would mix it up more with grey, but my grey pants, well they are so ill fitting I just look like one of those people on a weight loss comercial in their old fat pants when I wear them.My problem is "big" hips and small thighs. If I get them to fit my hips, I seem to be swimming in them everywhere else

Granted on the right those are tight skinny jeans, but now you can see better what I mean with a side by side:

So friends, how do YOU mix it up for dressy pants/bottoms in winter? .Where do you shop?  Do you ever get dress pants tailored? (I'm starting to think this might be my only option) Am I the only one having this problem??

B&W

Flats: Wet Seal
Pants: Kohls
Stripe Tank: Banana Republic Outlet
Cardi: TJ Maxx

Seriously, my dress pants are driving me nuts. Everything is so baggy and ill fitting. I try shopping for pants, try them on in every store and nothing fits. Driving me crazy! Where do you buy your dress pants from?

Catching Up

I was out of town this weekend straight after work, so here is Friday and today =)

Boots: Bergners
Skinnies:Love Culture
Cardigan: Old Navy
Scarf: Five Below (was only 5 bucks!)

Gold: Revlon Gold Rush 66
CopperL Super old nameless brandless bottle

This manicure doesn't look so bad against a brown outfit, but overall, I'm not a fan of this color on my nails. Might be cool to use later on for stamping though... I also attempted the four strand braid again since nobody really saw my last one, and it was coming quite unraveled as the day progressed, but I blame the scarf.

Flats: Payless
Pants: Kohls
Green Top: Express via Platos Closet
Cardigan: Old Navy
Watch: Target
Neclace: Love Culture ($3!)

Despite this watch not being very old, I haven't seen it again lately. I've been looking for a new watch, as the "leather" band on this one is on it's last legs. I LOVE the face, but unfortunately it's not designed to be able to just swap out a new band. Sad face. Also, my hair is wild, if you didn't notice. It just never wants to behave lately. Argh!

Blue Suede Shoes

 Flats: Wet Seal
Khakis: Kohls
Top: Banana Republic Outlet
Cardi: Gap Outlet
Necklace; Etsy

I just bought this necklace as a gift to myself with some of the cash my mom gave me for Christmas. I LOVE it. Dainty and simple, great for almost any outfit! The only problem is that because the cross is off center, it does tend to work it's way down to the middle over time, so I have to adjust it every now and again, but I do really like this necklace alot. I guess the sideways cross thing is some kind of celebrity trend, but I just happened across it on etsy.

I'm punishing my hair for not giving me pretty curls by torturing it with a flat iron. Man, do my ends need a trim. I need to call my stylist and have a little chat with her about my strange haircare/ aversion to certain hair product ingredients and see if she can work with me and what I use. Shouldn't really be a big deal, right? Several coworkers commented on how straight it was, one saying "it's usually so curly", which, in my frustrated 'my hair is so ugly' mood, am convinced meant "it's usually so crazy looking" (even though that is probably NOT what she was saying) I really can't get over how it got so long, seemingly so quickly. I like it long, which is why now I'm scared to get a trim and am using the whole hair product thing as an excuse.

I actually have a post about my hair routine all written up, I just have to publish it. It will explain all my crazy ways.

Outfit related, I think this combo of sweater and shoes with this shirt looks nice, pulling from the little pops of blue in the pattern, don't you?

Black and White

Flats: Wet Seal, (<$3 on clearance!)
Pants: Kohls or JCP
Sweater: Walmart
Polka Dot vest: Hand me down

I tried to throw in a little pattern here. I though the polka dots would spice up the plain black sweater. The vest is definitely too small in the sense that it's practically a belly shirt, but under a sweater it's ok. I don't LOVE it though, especially since it doesn't really fit right so I couldn't wear it many other ways comfortably, so I might look for a great fitting replacement that is similar.

You know what I love about link ups? Finding so many more AWESOME bloggers out there. Any they are always inspiring me with so many great ideas. Check em out!

These kids wear me out

 Bowtie Flats: Payless
Pants: Kohls
Top: Old Navy?
Pearls: Gift from bf

First day back in full swing teaching the little ones, and I.am.beat. I came home after working late to enter all the grades (due tonight) and could not will myself off the couch until about 7pm to actually make dinner. My stomach was soooo angry, but my legs refused. I can tell, this week is going to be rough as I adjust back into the routine of running around all day.

I am NOT a morning person. At all. I really need to try to be in bed with the lights off and my eyes shut by like, 10pm. I don't even have enough time to eat breakfast at home, and usually munch on poptarts or a granola bar at my desk with my morning coffee while reading emails in the 15 minutes I have before the first class shows up at my door.

I also started off the morning and my first day back nice and cold since I have outdoor car duty this week. Which also means I wore a hat, which smashed my hair a little. Also, I'm realizing that washing my hair at night and sleeping on it, even though its still fresh and clean, REALLY kills my curly 'do. I even gave it a good spritz with water and refreshed with a quick diffuser zap, which helped, but by the end of the day my hair was flat and limp and more wavy than curly. HMMM.

P.S. I've come to the sudden realization that my hair is long. Like, looking really long. What the heck? I guess I was in denial for a while.
