Boxes Boxes Everywhere

Well, the time has come to start packing for my move. I'm in the middle of crap everywhere, boxes piled all around. It's a  situation where I'm walking around like I've got stepping stones because that's the bare space I have to step. Hah!

I'm making o.k progress...there has been ALOT of sorting, organizing, and purging in the process. Some stuff I will try to sell, like a few small tables and misc items, some I will donate if it doesn't sell, some I'm still having a hard time being able to let go of if I don't sell it...even though it's in my "get rid of it" pile.(I keep trying to tell myself downsize downsize, get rid of it...its only half working)

Anywho, needless to say its definitely not a stylish time in my life, and there is nowhere to take pictures here even if it was. Although the boy is coming for one last visit this weekend for my birthday, and I'm hoping to have majority of my things packed and have the boxes more organized to one area...so maybe if I dress up for our dates I will have some space to take a few outfit pictures...

Festive Fourth

I can be cute when I wanna. Since I had this hanging in the closet, and it's the fourth of July and all, I figured, might as well! Plus, I will be in public later watching the fireworks, so there is reason to put in more effort than when I usually wear my pajamas most of the day. I mean, uh.. erm..heh heh

So I thought I'd try this two slightly different ways, red hoop earrings, nude lips or no earrings, red lips. I look nice without the lipstick, but in the photos, red lips wins, dontcha think?

Flats: Kohls
Dress and Belt: Forever 21
Red hoops: sorry, no idea
Red lipstick: Revlon blackberry with ELF matte rich red on top

Most bloggers can attest, that while taking pictures of yourself, you inevitably get a bunch where you are making stupid faces (which you delete) but I had to include this one because I can't help but laugh because my expression is so "b****, please" Haha!

Look, I'm in a dress.

Dress: Delias
Anchor Necklace: Charming Charlie

I do love the detailing on this dress. Also, straightening my hair is more trouble than it's worth I think. I can't believe I use to wear my hair like this every. day.

I think tomorrow I will have to do my June budget post...

Low maintenance

Totally haven't been updating, but I totally don't care. I've reverted back to lazy mode, aka most days I don't even leave the house, so what's the point in trying? Haha. Shame really, I've got cute stuff, but what's the point of wearing it just to sit on the couch all day? (man, sorry to ya'll with regular jobs, I sound like the laziest bum ever)

Most days it's shorts and a simple tank or shirt, my hair up, no jewelry, no makeup, no shoes. Other days I put a little effort in... see below. =)

Flats: H&M
Shorts: JCP
Top: Target
Necklace: Body Central

What the heck is up with my toes??
Shorts and tee: Kohls
Shades: NY&Co.

Everybody look to the left...everybody look to the right...

 Essie Fiji
No name polish...well, "Body Central" brand from the mall...

That metallic polish I last posted, STAINED my nails like none other. The dark blue was the worst, and the green, made my nails a pretty gross shade of yellow. And that's WITH a basecoat. Yikes.

I've been busy...

 Jean shorts: Kohls
Shirt: NY&Co

Life has been a little crazy these last few weeks. I've been interviewing for jobs, apartment hunting, working on inventory for some art shows that are coming up, etc. I just haven't had the time to take any photos. I did snap a few of my recent manicures, since I wanted to try out my new nail polish set I bought.

The brand is Kleancolor and I got it from amazon. I bought my first set from them a long time ago, it was a mini set of bottles of bright rainbow colors. They were awesome! So I bought a black-white ombre set maybe two months ago, and the colors are fine but the formula is terrible. I then got these metallics, hearing that they stamp well, and I love them! One did stain my stamper though, so I made sure to use a base coat the second time around for the regular paint job. If only I was feeling creative enough to do some really cool designs...

The makeup experiment

Now, I'm not usually one for being all, OMG, I'm not wearing any makeup, but I usually always feel more pretty with a little on. I'm probably making that worse by doing this, but I wanted to play with my makeup just a little and see the difference it might make. I attempted contouring, and yea, it was a flop. I must not be doing it right? You couldnt' even see a difference when I took a photo. Hmm. If I figure out the contouring, I'll be sure to post a photo of it...

Shoes: H&M
Shorts: Old Navy
Top:?

Honestly, the biggest difference is really just that my eyes pop a little more. I'm not even wearing mascara. I think eyeliner is so much more important than mascara. For reals. Here's what I'm wearing:

Lucy minerals foundation
A covergirl Brownish eyeshadow with a bit of shimmer
Black eyeliner ( I rotate whatever brand I have on hand)
B.E mineral blush
Chapstick

Don't forget the age old advice from Full House my friends: "The secret to makeup is to make it look like you're not wearing any."

Sailor Saturday

Skirt/Dress: Burlington Coat Factory
Tank:Gap (similar at H&M)
Necklace: Charming Charlie
Earrings: etsy

I picked this skirt up along with my other new green and black maxi skirts the other day from Burlington Coat Factory. This one is fun because of the nautical type vibe, and it's sliiiightly high low (but not too extreme) and it's interchangeable and can be a dress or a skirt! Who doesn't love multi-purpose?

In other news, I've been "no poo" for a year now. (really, just sulphate and silicone free) My hair is still adjusting to the cut and hasn't curled very well the past couple days, but I'm workin on it.

So after my haircut the other day, I let her use styling products in it. (Last time she didn't, since she didn't want to mess up my no poo situation.) And when I went to wash my hair later, when it got wet...I could actually feel that plastic slime stuck in my hair. Sure, while it was dry it was silky and smooth, and then when it was wet I could totally tell it was coated in gunk that was NOT coming out without my reserve of sulphate shampoo. ICK. I was actually really shocked that I could feel the product residue  in my hair when it was wet. But I guess after a year of it not being there, you notice when some gunk is stuck in there. Needless to say, as nice and smooth as it was dry/straight, that grossed me out way too much while it was wet to go back to products filled with silicones. NO THANKS.
